Creation, introduction to the market and promotion of the author’s mobile guidebook in St. Petersburg

Initial situation:

Conducted marketing studies have shown that the availability of tourist applications, designed for both tourists and residents who come to the center of St. Petersburg to relax and have fun, is limited.

Also, there was no convenient mobile resource containing a large amount of information about places in Petersburg working in the evening and at night. The vast majority of existing applications contain either information about the most famous tourist sites (museums, monuments, parks, etc.), or just post schedule of events.

There is no resource that combines the functions of a guide and an event schedule with an emphasis on the nightlife of the city.

 

Task

To create and bring to the leading positions a convenient modern mobile guide in St. Petersburg with exclusive information that is not found in other tourist applications.

Кey Solution

Develop and bring to the market an exclusive guide to the center of St. Petersburg and touristic suburbs — Pushkin, Pavlovsk, Peterhof in Russian and English for mobile devices on Android and iOS platforms.
Within the framework of one mobile application, combine a tourist guide and event poster, creating a resource that is interesting not only for tourists, but also for residents of St. Petersburg.
Prepare a unique content that is poorly presented in other applications for tourists: focus on the evening and nightlife of the city, the creative side of St. Petersburg, unusual sights of “non-fancy Petersburg”, gastronomic Petersburg with a filter by cuisine, etc.
To use “smart” technologies that allow to show places to the user that are located nearby and are open now, and events that will begin soon. Including — the current schedule of bridges opening in real time.

Create a network of project partners that will provide up-to-date and reliable first-hand content.

Completed work

Creation of a brand «Petersburg 24». Development of the concept, structure and design of the site and mobile application.

Collection of information and preparation of content about places and events for the period of the launch of the project.

Creation of a website petersburg24.ru, placing text and visual content on the site.

Development of «smart» native mobile applications for operating systems Android and iOS. All content posted on the site automatically goes into mobile applications.

Constantly updating content — adding information about new places and events, checking the relevance of articles.

Results

Agency FINEDAY, together with its regular partner, the Internet-studio “Siluet”, created and brought to the market a modern and user-friendly mobile application “Petersburg 24”.

At the moment, «Petersburg 24» is one of the most complete guides in the evening- and nightlife of St. Petersburg.

At the beginning of October 2018, the total content of the site and applications amounted to about 2,000 places and about 100 events per week.

ПThe project started in the summer of 2018 and is gradually gaining popularity both among users — residents and guests of the city, and among partners — restaurants, clubs, creative spaces, museums, art galleries, etc.

The number of downloads of the application is constantly growing and in three months after the start it was over 5000.
